Water Boss water softener in Tampa, Florida?

does any one know how good is Water Boss water softener system ? i’ve read pretty good reviews online but the local plumbers claim that their own softeners understand florida water better than the home depot system as home depot sells the same system in the whole country and florida water is harder than most of the country. another thing is, the home depot system has an lcd screen that tells when it is the time to add salt etc.. plumber’s system is all manual with no electronic component. he claims that’s better in florida because of the storms & lightening. i’m not too sure about that either. i guess if lightening hits my house, i would have more important things to worry about than the water softener. has any one used water boss in florida ? i would appreciate if you can share your experience here

The water boss is a system sold in big box stores like The Home Depot. Your plumber is correct. Electronic systems break much sooner than standard mechanical systems. The added frustration from the electronic controls do not offset the amount of salt you save from these electronic systems. I sell and install water treatment and the water boss is a system I routinely remove for customers when it is only 2 or 3 years old. I can be pretty sure your plumber’s system will cost a little more, but:

    1) He knows how to fix it while nobody has parts to fix those water boss systems.
2)If serviced properly, the system he wants you to get will last much longer – maybe even 20 years.
3)If you buy the water boss, you will still need to pay your plumber to install it.
